DFW Metroplex

HQZ has one school there. Another option is Barr Air Patrol at HQZ. You start as an "observer" on pipeline patrols. But you can build time and good experience and pays better that flight instructing. lol. I was the Chief Pilot there until two years ago and "rescued" several CFIs.

Also look into Redbird, now Dallas Executive. It is further out but you might look into Grayson County. Don't know who is instructing up there since Voyager closed but it used to be a decent place to instruct and where I started years ago.
I can't get the folks at Barr to call me back. I'd love to work there.

US Flight Academy :D out of KDTO.........another one of my friends just quit today..... so there's your spot

This place does a lot of advertising.. so I assumed they would be pretty busy but this is not the first time I've heard of instructors walking out. I would be interested in knowing why (if you don't mind sharing).

Fort Worth Mecham International may have some openings for Flight Instructors, I work for American Flyers and they are moving to ADS, but I know there is another flight school around there. I think it is called Sandpiper Aviation, maybe they have some openings.

So American Flyers at FTW is moving to the ADS location??? I did PVT through CSEL there, and they had a bunch of mexican students at the time.
