DFW Crashpad (and car) needed

Hello all,

It looks as if my career took me to the DFW area to teach in one of the flight schools there, however, the prospect of moving there without either a car nor apartment makes me a little nervous. Has anyone been through a similar situation? Renting a car for $800 a month and renting a hotel room for $40.00 a night --- there OUGHT to be better, less expensive options.

Info on crashpads and ideas on the transportation solution greatly appreciated. :)

What area? DFW is large with many GA airports.

Thanks. I haven't met with the chief pilot at US Aviation yet but I'm very interested in working there. I have a friend who works there who strongly recommends that I apply. If they're hiring, US Aviation will be my number one choice primarily because I thrive on being buzy and I actually like long hours. I was also offered a job at Arlington airport with an old friend of mine but I'm not entirely sure he has that many students for me since I teach single engine stuff and he runs a multi engine school. I was also offered a job at the Grand Prairie airport but that was 5 months ago so I will also check to see if that's still available.

Us aviation is where it's at if you like the hours. As far as cars and places to live, there are plenty if places to live and other instructors to live with. Instructors in the past have also lived at the same appartments as the students and ride the schools bus to work...
