I'm glad somebody caught that.Dane Cook is not funny, with or without sound.
Dane Cook is not funny, with or without sound.
I listened for arguments sake. It really, really did sound the exact same.
Interesting. Didn't sound like any 'bus I've heard.
Oh, absolutely. Training out of FTG, they're quite literally buzzing around all the time. I don't know exactly what sound I was expecting to hear from a fly-by at cruse altitude/speed, but it wasn't that fighter-like sound from the video.I thought the same, but figured that, that was due to the lower power setting when we would normally hear them.

Thinking it has to do with much higher mach values than on approach.
In 36 years of flying, never had (our archaic according to traffic cone) ATC call out wx balloon. Does that ever happen?I had the volume down. Why should the sound make the video? That's the dumbest thing I've heard. People love Dane Cook. Because he's funny. Turn the sound off = he's not funny. Try it. Then turn the sound (read:not volume) back on. He's still not funny. Magical. You laugh your butt off. Turn the background sound off. Not funny. Turn it back on. Stays not funny.
Same premise here. It's a freaking airbus cruising. $20 says the pilots had no idea it was anywhere near them.
"Delta xxx, you have a weather balloon..."
"We're looking. (As they finish arguing about Trump, TA, regionals, hotel committee, etc."
Not trying to ruin the buzz about the vid being posted. Just that it's "that cool" of a video. If it is, I'll catch y'all in a couple weeks when I return back to work.
Kind of the same reason I don't think an F-18 landing on a carrier is a cool video because it has Steppenwolf for background music.
I don't think many people are surviving external to the cabin at 370 to hear something like this.something none of us have probably ever heard before.
Agreed. Now,Fluffy on the other hand...

I couldn't think of a scenario that would allow any of us to hear big iron doing .80 at 370, but I didn't want to exclude anybody with a definitive statement...I don't think many people are surviving external to the cabin at 370 to hear something like this.
It does, but it's rare. My last wx balloon call was probably 2 months ago....before that it had probably been a few years. In 36 years of flying, never had (our archaic according to traffic cone) ATC call out wx balloon. Does that ever happen?
They don't appreciate the chopI seem to see them a lot more above FL400 than below.

Gliders. Had a near collision with one outside TEB at 6000. The glider pilot had blonde hair.

Over by Stillwater? Blairstown Airport right there is a big glider base.
