Derg fly-by?

Well, if the vid didn't have sound, I'd agree with you. The sound makes the video in this case. It's a lot different than hearing a 'bus overhead on final or on it's departure climb.
I had the volume down. Why should the sound make the video? That's the dumbest thing I've heard. People love Dane Cook. Because he's funny. Turn the sound off = he's not funny. Try it. Then turn the sound (read:not volume) back on. He's still not funny. Magical. You laugh your butt off. Turn the background sound off. Not funny. Turn it back on. Stays not funny.

Same premise here. It's a freaking airbus cruising. $20 says the pilots had no idea it was anywhere near them.

"Delta xxx, you have a weather balloon..."

"We're looking. (As they finish arguing about Trump, TA, regionals, hotel committee, etc."

Not trying to ruin the buzz about the vid being posted. Just that it's "that cool" of a video. If it is, I'll catch y'all in a couple weeks when I return back to work.

Kind of the same reason I don't think an F-18 landing on a carrier is a cool video because it has Steppenwolf for background music.

Well it's not the most amazing thing I've heard, but it is quite unique.
So be it! I see planes 1000 feet away all day, every day. Not unique to me. I couldn't care less about what they sound like. I'm guessing not much different than hearing them on the ramp, or landing and T/O when I was a fueler.

What was unique to me was when I flew with a guy who was working on a meteorology master and they had to launch a weather balloon. The photos he had, once it was well beyond 37,000 feet, were amazing.

Cool story. Bro.

All I said was it isn't that amazing. Someone else said if the video didn't have sound they would agree. Then we discussed that. Nothing more.

Well, you're discussion seemed more like a half a dozen posts looking down from your big iron pissin on a thread that was trying to geek out a bit over something none of us have probably ever heard before.
And I was just trying to be funny. Oh well.
