Delta Upgrade Time Vol. II

We could go on and on about this, but the real joke (on us, anyway) is the steadily-declining median income.
And constant rate of inflation with threat that it spikes.

Triple whammy.

My wife doesn't even work, there are days when I wonder why I don't send to work.

What's a joke is going from just over six-figure income as a 20-year career military officer to supporting a family of four on $25K before taxes as a regional FO.

Now that is funny

Huh? No disrespect, but won't you have a active duty military retirement to go with that regional FO pay? Or are you a Reserve officer?

Edit: or are you talking about someone else? Again, what about their military retirement income? Saying someone with a 20-year active duty retirement PLUS first year regional FO pay (two incomes, total of what, at least $50k or more) is having as tough of a time as a typical non-prior service first year FO (what, $25k?) is sorta... hmm... well let's just say it makes me reach for my tiny violin. So says this E7.

It would have been cool to be able to hold SEA 330A so we could wreak havoc.
I am sure that would have been banned almost immediately. Plus, just for the record, I am never pulling gear for you. :def:

If I stick around, maybe in several year we can do a widebody 4 man crew together, but thats it.

I've seen some of that too. I was referring to the regional CA's that don't want to take a paycut.

So I'm sitting in the squadron the other day across the desk from a brand new MD-88 DL guy, who just got off active duty as a strike 15/T-38 IP type. I think he was 15 from the bottom in ATL. He was showing me all the stuff he could bid for even as the lowest of the low, and my jaw dropped. That was the day when I learned I would rather bottom .2% at Delta on reserve, than holding a top line at any regional.
