Don't count your chickens before they hatch. I'm happy you got on one of the top Majors but let it play out for a few years. This business is up and down. Ask a United '98 hire or Airways how great life is. Still good for Delta and United,etc.
 
What base and plane is this on? Is this an artificially low seniority level at this particular base or is 2008 getting close to the 50/50 split line.

You are correct.

I didn't think we'd see captains that were still eligible for the 12 year graduated pay ever. But there's some lucky five digit six year FO's looking at buying red meat.

Smooth. My "End-o around my seat lock" on the NYC330 captain category didn't work. But damn man, it would have been the coup of the century if I had went right seat ER to left seat.

So… Whatchya gonna do?

I can hold all FO seats in all bases but 747 and 777. NYC 88A is over 1000 junior to me. I'm close to NYC 320A. We'll see what the Feb AE offers.
 
I guess you have to choose carefully! The bus is fun and goes literally everywhere. The -88 you're going to see a lot of burgs and villes.

AAirways has about 10 unfilled captain spots if anyone's interested? 5 legs a days and you get to do the river visual all day everyday! Also all the five guys you can eat.

But honestly, captain upgrade doesn't mean much when the list is so lopped sided because those that aren't able to hold a line are stuck on reserve hell forever. When a 2008 hire can hold xmas off and can move from base to base or aicraft to aircraft without getting stuck on reserve then we'll know this hiring boom is in full swing.
 
Upgrade at CAL on the 737 in EWR went really junior at one point in 2007, like under 2 years, but reserve in those days was pretty miserable. How long would these cats be sitting reserve in NYC?

I see why that would be jr, but I mean it's not like they don't have a flood of applicants including me.

I have no TPIC, that's why I haven't heard anything I'm guessing.

Reserve is easy peasy and can go fairly senior.
