Delta TravelNet Question

In the non rev flight listing on Delta TravelNet what does a -2 mean in the available column? Is it saying that the flight is overbooked by 2 in that class of seating? The column looks like this -2/19(158)

Thanks!

-2/19(158)

-2 means that cabin has sold two more seats than it actually has.

19 means they will sell 19 more seats in that cabin (which would result in -21).

(158) is the actual number of seats installed in that cabin.

Thanks Nick,

First Class is showing 14/14(24) so Im hoping this flight will work out.

How many days away is it?

I bet that 14 will be close to zero by the time the day arrives.

About a week prior, you can see the first class number start to drop as people apparently convert miles to an upgrade. That continues all the way until the departure day.

Good luck!

Yeah travel day is Friday. Fingers crossed. There are later flights that still look good too.

Thanks for the help.

We have a WINNER! :)

The listings are general kabuki theater, it's all about the airport standby list.

I've gotten so I don't even look at anything other than the airport stby list. I've been told that the "front" page doesn't include certain premium seats (i.e exit row).

Furthermore, I'd love to see a mobile site alla CAL's mobile coair. That combined with the stby list on the regular mobile CAL site and you've got a seriously powerful tool with realtime info. It rocked.

If we had someone to create a paid iPhone app for TravelNet, they've got about 25,000-plus customers that would be willing to pay off the bat.

There are people though, who check the airport standby list a week away from the flight and see 75 seats open in coach on a flight that shows only a couple seats left, and will look at you with a straight face and say "there are 75 seats held! It's fine!" when it is obviously 75 people who simply have not chosen their seat yet.

But yeah the day of, the only way to win the battle against HKs is the standby list.

Now I'm having flashbacks from a bad hour in Narita.

That's what I figured the difference between the two screens meant.

Or a retiree that will still get on the plane before someone who's trying to get to work!

That is, unfortunately, how the system works.

(Delta nondependent son of a '78 here, in case that wasn't clear.)

That said, I'd never knowingly get onboard ahead of a pilot going to work. Y'all got to identify yourselves. :)

Heres an add on question...Looking for an Intl flight in october and it reads 16/0 in first class...any ideas? 16 seats open, but they are selling any??
