What are they to be replaced with - have they replacements on order?

I can imagine that 737-200 and 737-300's could be easily switched to 737NG's;

767-200's are replaced with what? Or is there a surplus of that type in operation?

MD-88's or MD-90's it's a dual type rating that makes no sense for rationalisation - I could imagine both going! Maybe the MD-90's would go, there aren't many anyway, but there's loadsa -88's; that'd be a tricky replacement and what with?

Sounds like he's not thought this through properly!

Sounds like it's time to bid for a new type rating Doug!!

ooooohh, stan "EVIL"

MD90's I think will be the ones to go. DL doesn't have enough $$$ to begin replacing their 88's. But, I'm no expert.

The 737 200 & 300's Delta owns and operates should be replaced by 737-700's.
As for the 767-200's had Boeing not shut down there 757-300 line they would have been an obvious good choice.
In fact I once read that Boeing marketed the 757-300 as a replacment for airlines older 762's. The penguin might be better to expound on that thought then I.
But more realistically the 762's will be replaced by 787's

Very old news. The -88's and -90's are not on the chopping block.

The 767-200's are already be phased out. I have only seen a few in ATL. I would be the farm that ship 102 "the spirit" wont go away. Some of the longer flight with the -200 are being replaced by the 737-800. The -88's arent going anywhere anytime soon. Who knows about the -90's. With "operation clockwork" in full affect the -200s would really not be needed since "they" say we have actually increased a/c availablity. Ship 380 a 737-200 went to the desert a few days ago.
