Delta to announce A321neo order

He's not my buddy. He thinks he's my friend but it's not mutual. All you have to do is look him in the eye, ask "are you done?" and then, if you're FO "I'll be more than happy to have crew scheduling send a replacement" or if you're CA "This isn't working out, go sit in the back". :)

Enough calls to crew scheduling to be replaced will solve the problem but I think he's got a flip phone so he'll never read the internets sentiment.

If he does my IOE, come watch the hilarity.
@Derg s LCA buddy chewed out a crew for their "unprofessional" taxiing while this gem was deadheading.

ooh ooh ooh, i've flown with him

Yes! I'll tell you my "Go sit on the flight attendant jumpseat, do this now and I'm not kidding" story offline one day. Different LCA.

Very. And he's only that way because people take it and don't put their foot down. I didn't and now he thinks we're best friends, which we're not. I figure if I'm going to get time off for standing up to a bully after 20 years of unscathed service to the company, well, I'll be more than happy to wrap burritos at Chipotle.

So, I should avoid the 320 to spare myself from this jabroni?

Seriously? Any LCA sticks their head in the cockpit other than to say “thanks” and “goodbye” is gonna get an earful and told to get the hell off my jet. No where in my chain of supervisors is LCA or instructor listed. Next guy above me is a CP.

What if 6 months later he shows up to give you a line check?

Call the lead line check pilot and say "nope", send me another one.

When I had a dust-up with Comair Academy back in the day, the guy at the center of it was also a SouthernJets simulator instructor. When the dust settled, I got a call explaining that this person would be unable to conduct any part of my future training or line evaluations.

Derg is 100% correct. The jackalope may be there for a line check, I’m still PIC and outrank him in the CoC. It’s an easy call. Replace him or me. At SJI, LCAs are considered a support role, not a pilot supervisor.

Oh, him? I know him. Got along well with him. Maybe because I didn’t take crap off him when we flew together.

Which is the key. I shut him down when he starting being an ass and after that, we got along famously.

i got along with him but it was only 1 leg. although in the brief "guys, be quiet we are on the phone with the dispatcher", um no, you are...kind of hard for me to hear him when the phone is up to your ear.

We were doing a 4 day domestic. He started off about how he didn’t like how I was doing something. I asked him if he wanted me to call scheduling to get him a new FO when we got to Atlanta, or did he want to call them. It was a pleasant trip after that.

Mine was similar. Coupled with a "situation" during recurrent, next time we flew I literally paid for nothing and the other copilot was bewildered with how friendly he was to me. Ha! :)

I've offered to step off a jet twice in the last 20 years. Actually I did once but they ended up cancelling the flight anyway because I was actually correct about an operational decision.

We never cancel... We just operate 23 hours later empty!
