Delta TA

WC is controlled by state law not the employer. The concept is just about everything is covered in exchange for the workers accepting the schedule of payments and rules and giving up the right to sue the employer.

Now there are special rules if they self insure but the concept is the same.

Ethan is telling you the truth. It's not just his former airline, it's pretty much all of them. You'd have to ask the attorneys why this is, I don't know. I just know that we lost a lot of cases on this, and the attorneys were adamant that it was a very bad idea to do something that could get you injured that was outside of your job description.

I try not to worry about what they want to hear, in terms of trying to "game" the interview, as most places will see right through that. My answer would be, I do them if required

Oh, what a splendidly awful answer, because it leads right into the next question so well!

"If they're required, huh? So do you only do what is specifically required of you? Can you tell me about a time that you went above and beyond for your customers and did something that was not required of you? We're looking for team players here."

I think folks are confused about the difference between a WC claim through the state and an OJI claim that is a union negotiated insurance policy.

Sure. Any number of times.

But it doesn't matter how many times you've gone above and beyond, if you don't do what's required, first and foremost. Fail to do that, and no one cares about or notices the "extra credit". Right or wrong.

Of course. But who's talking about not doing the required duties?

Since you all are talking about PA's while waiting for the TA to be released, I have to say that most times I can't understand a single word of the announcement beyond "From the flight deck". They need to train you to deliver messages that the flying public can understand. That's the first step in engagement. Stop talking so fast, stop mumbling; slow down and enunciate!

I do what is asked of me as I know that we exist to serve many different kinds of customers, but I would be thrilled if there was less talking on the PA by everyone.

A little goes a long way.

Is it even possible to file a wc claim at the state level if you have oji pay as a negotiated benefit?

Dude, you have no information about the TA! What do you expect us to blab about?

By tomorrow or Wednesday we should have some definitive info to talk about. Lots of rumors have been spread but to spice up the thread I'll share some:

3 year contract with immediate 9% raise then 6% raise in 2016, and 4% in 2017 and 2018. 3-5% cut in profit sharing

E190/195 coming on property

CSeries coming on property

Some productivity concessions that the company will pay us for since they are very swamped in the schoolhouse for the next decade.

Hopefully tomorrow the truth will set us free

E190 and 195s on property?

CSeries on property?

Oh how wonderful...guess that's a few ways to wishfully recapture "regional" lift.

Also I may be interpreting the Union emails incorrectly but I believe the MEC TA briefing by the NC tomorrow and subsequently Wednesday's MEC vote on the TA will apparently be done in "Open Session" with all Delta pilots invited to attend.

That may make way for some fireworks, especially if the DPA/APC crowd shows up in force:) :) :)
