There's not a lot out there for DPJ (formally known as Delta Air Elite). They also merged with a company called Seagrave that was based in Kinston, NC and you'll find nothing good about them anywhere. This was my interview experience with DPJ. I did have a friend of mine put in an internal recommendation, might have been one of the few reasons I got the call, as they value those. He's been there for 3 years and had been pretty positive the whole time.

Flew from PIT-CVG positive space. Arrived about 930a for 11a interview. If you've never traveled to CVG, there are enough restaurants to choose from if you have time to kill, which you most likely will. My interview was at 11a. so I had time to kill that morning and my outbound flight was a 400pm departure. CVG isn't what it was during the Comair days, but still a decent airport.

5 minute van ride to old Comair HQ, waited about 10 minutes for interview to begin. Brad B(ex-Comair) and Ed W did my interview, no one from HR. They all seemed to be very busy that morning.

Ed's background is law enforcement (FBI I believe) so he's all business. Can be a bit intimidating for that reason. He also has very acute hearing so if you talk loud, keep that in mind and try to tone it down. We were in a tiny meeting room too, which only makes that worse. He might not be doing interviews much longer, as they are moving him to a different position.

Anyway, here's what you've been waiting for:

Know what operational control means regarding 135 ops. I mean know it, even if you think you do already. Big one to them

Define CRM in your own terms

Various questions about SOPs and using them. They like to hear it

TMAAT that CRM was bad.
3 best attributes as a pilot
3 worst". "
Your best above and beyond customer service that you gave?
Bad manager of people you've experienced?
What would xxx employer say about you?
Scared yourself flying moment?

Client wants WSJ and you're in the middle of nowhere. What would you do to find one? Don't be shy about stealing one from a doctors office or library, they want to hear creative ideas. Also, if you find one twenty miles away, you need to tell company since it will affect your duty time.

Captain belligerent in bar about company. How would you handle the situation?

Where do you see yourself in 6 months? 5 years?
Hobbies?

What would you bring to DPJ?

2 year training contract on a promissory note. Pro rated from day one.
40k to start as SIC in Citation V (Bravo, Ultra,Encore) not sure other types, but sounds similar. Captains at 65k. Everyone starts right seat regardless of time as of right now.
Everyone goes to proficiency check now after hiring, Simuflite, etc.
Home-based, as long as you live within an hour of an airport with Delta service. 8 on 6 off, but you could be out for 16 depending on vacation, training, etc.

No airplane questions! No systems, no procedures, nothing. They want to hear customer service and CRM stuff, that's all.

Found out I was hired into pool for CE-560 by email before I left CVG. Might not be a pool for particular aircraft, not sure what they have. Growth expected but not promised and upgrade is merit based or performance based, whatever you want to call it.

That's all I can remember. Hope this helps those who need it.

Good write up and congrats on the making the pool. DPJ has been on my list as a potential future employer for a while now.

4000 total, 800 in Citation, 750 Dash 8. Rest of it is instructing minus 250 or so for initial ratings.
