Either way my blood pressure just went up thinking about the clt ramp. There has got to be a better way for that airport to run, between ATC and Ramp i'm surprised the hub is profitable.

I never really minded it. The CRJ was small enough we could get out of most conflicts that they tried to put us in and it was a money maker. The only times I got frustrated is if your passengers were about to miss their connections or, when I watched my commute pull out of the gate while sitting at Spot 5.

They can start by moving international to A and not push heavies into the biggest bottleneck on the ramp.

About as close as I got to losing it on the radio, I murmured something about a "Sisyphean Effort" but that's about it. Had a maintenance problem, (in my opinion) captain didn't manage the situation very well, dug into our minimum fuel for takeoff in the process, came back to the gate, had the problem rectified, got more fuel, rampers disappeared for almost an hour and we couldn't get pushed back or even external power, APU started burning us into the point where we're going to be below minimum fuel for takeoff, airport shifted around which was going to extend our taxi, got more fuel, still no rampers, tic…toc….tic….toc…

Before they do anything else to that airport, the need to make the North Line bi-directional. That would fix 65% of the problems on that ramp. They also need to let the inbounds hear the outbounds and vice versa.
