Delta pilot apps on file

However, I was told by the guy in charge of new-hire training that if an interviewee shows up in a tan suit then he/she will be hired on the spot and taken out for drinks at the Sky Club. I'm super serial.

:)

Wearing Tan indicates Management Potential.

Probably the cog or the mmpi portion.

I thought the cog test in ATL was the easiest part of the Compass routine. I'm fairly sure it's the same one? Maybe us "young guys" are sharper?

So, with 9,000 applicants in the pool... DAL can cover all of their upcoming retirements fairly easy, eh?

Five bucks says that 98% of those that did not pass were due to the cog eval. Folks have to work hard to flunk the face to face interview.

Isn't that the one that if you flunk it, you're done for life? I'm more apprehensive of the written and the medical than the cog, psych or panel. I know guys that failed the psych, but you have to be a little crazy to do this job anyway. :)

Nope, just the face to face was one strike and you are out. However, just talked with the big cheese today and if you fail any part you can still get a call back after six months so, that is a good change.

Has anybody heard of regional guys getting calls? So far everybody I've talked to that's gotten an interview has been military. I'd guess they are taking SOME current 121 guys, but from my (non scientific) sampling it would seem very few. I'd love for my phone to ring some time soon, but it's not looking likely right now.

There IS A PILOT SHORTAGE COMING!

LOL. Sorry, maybe one of our young spikey haired FO's can comment.

Pray for a winning lottery ticket.

there is one guy at pinnacle that got offered the job, and another guy that I just heard has an interview.

RUMOR ALERT: I was jumpseating home today and the F/O turns to the captain and says "I heard another rumor today. i heard we are gonna be hiring 900 pilots. They are supposedly pulling-30s from the desert"

Yeah. I think most of the guys getting hired now are regionals. There's a big thread over on the DALPA forum, well besides me picking on Buzz again, about the few military/reservists that are supposedly being hired.

The number I heard today was 30 ASA guys have interviewed already. I know of two FOs and a few captains who were hired. I heard of a couple of captains who were not hired too. They are pretty selective. The best advice I can give is, wear a pink tie, and a purple shirt. :)

Just kidding guys, the true color is yellow. Delta peeps LOVE yellow... ;)

Interesting. Well, I guess I shouldn't believe everything I hear then.

I (along with two others on JC) failed the face to face part back in '08. So you are saying they changed it and we can interview again?

Everyone who failed the face to face can, except for Swede lovers called Seggy.:p

Actually that's a good question. I'll ask around to find out for you.

Good to know the "One strike and you're out" policy got nixed. Maybe they looked at their retirement numbers in a few years and realized they'd have to hire 200 hour wonders if they did that to everyone. :)

I can confirm that at least one regional CA got the job offer. Buddy of mine that's a MEM CA for us.
