Delta Pilot/Aircraft domiciles.

A question for Doug or any other person who might know the answer.

I was thinking about the pilot domiciles for Delta just now, and if memory serves they are: LAX, SLC, DFW (maybe not anymore?) CVG, JFK, MCO, and ATL.

But I heard some time ago that not all aircraft are "based" in these cities for lack of a better word. eg. you cannot be a SLC based 777 pilot as it doesn't even fly into SLC. But then again you can fly anything and be based in ATL.

So my question is, what aircraft are based in what domiciles?

Thanks all for any help! Would be appreciated greatly.

(Also, if anyone from American has an answer to the above question that would be great also)

Thanks again.

Current bases:

LAX 757/767, 767-400
SLC 737-300 "round dial", 737-800, 757/767
DFW MD-88/90
CVG 737-200, MD-88, 757/767
NYC 767ER (international), MD-88, 737-300 "EFIS", 737-800
ATL 777, 767 (international), 767-400, 757/767, 737-200, 737-800, MD-88

DFW is closing next year and rumor has it, and please don't quote me on this because last thing I need to be is 'sourced' but some say that they heard that the MD-90's are moving to SLC.

I'm surprised there isn't a base at FLL. The majority of the flights out of here appear to be Delta.

Doug we are hearing the -90's are going to be in the phase out group of aircraft also.

A lot like the 'tug incident' last week, it probably depends on who you ask!

Everything's contingent on where all of those DFW guys go.

*IF* the -90's go to SLC and if my seniority will allow me to hold a line, I'll throw a bid in for it.

Commuting to ATL blows!

well.. love to see you in salt lake city, hope you do it. I'm more old school, I love to see the MD-90s/MD-11's running around here. More the better.

If you were really old school, you'd love to see the Tri-stars and old DC-9's running around there...

OH baby i'm all about the L-1011 that were running around here. That thing would growl a low rumble starting up and a smoke cloud that would make any pilot smile. When I was younger I took them for granted and never really took much notice..now look at things.. bunch of airbus's and RJ's running around. That's not fun..

now the old dc-9 i'll admit I have a hard time telling the difference from a md-88, 90, 717, or dc-9 so I couldn't pick a dc-9 out if it was in front of me.. but I do like the general look.

Matthew
(again more MD's running around SLC is a good thing)

Well the down side is that if you get to bid SLC then you wouldnt get to enjoy the great weather ATL has to offer. But the commuting would be a ton better

It's official, it looks like the -90's, in fact, are going to SLC!

So when is the bid going in?

Too lazy to check. I'm in a sudafed haze. Must....argue....politics....

Well I cant blame if you bid the -90 in SLC. The commute should be ton easier

Probably go pretty senior.

DFW is a senior base and considering there's already 400 commuters between ATL and DFW (including gate agents, pilots, flight attendants, etc) before the base closure, lots of pilots are looking at other alternatives. I think ATL and CVG will take most of the pilots, but the 'smart money' I think is on SLC because of the quality of flying and the size of the base (small).

No online nonstops to LAX/ONT/SNA or JFK/EWR/LGA so most will probably go to CVG, SLC and ATL.
