Delta orders some Airbuses. Airbii? Airbux?

This aircraft order was not very surprising. The company wasn't very tight lipped about it. Though there are still whispers floating around about a possible C-series order.

So if these are rumored to be growth what does that do to hiring? There's a rumor floating that Delta ducked up the hiring numbers and they're actually going to need 600 people between start of hiring and end of 2014. To me 600 seems pretty high but what do I know?

Awesome post!

Thanks bro.

17 years in the business brings a certain level of "guarded optimism" that drives the fanboys nuts.

I've been "Six to Eight Weeks"'d to the ying yang.

Oh, check your mobile, got a question for ya.

I've heard the same.

From a passenger prospective the 321 is like Shangri-La whereas the -800 and the -900 are tortuous.

There are days that I went to USAirways to ride their barebones 321 home when there were seats on the -800 with wifi and live TV.

Hey. We've got wifi now. And if you're lucky, you might be on a flight that's been specially selected for a limited time offer! We've never given away this amount of bonus miles before!

I've seen it on the AAA 321's but nothing smaller.

Good!

All the Airbii have wifi, as well as the 190s and some of the Republic 175s. The 321s are getting the streaming entertainment thing that AA has through GoGo, but I don't know when that'll happen.

Ungh. GoGo is NoGo right when you really need it. And that shizzle is spendy as hell how.

I agree, but I've had fairly good luck as of late. Plus, our new cockpit phones (and cabin phones for the FAs to call Medlink) are based off GoGo. I bought the unlimited plan years ago that works on any airline. $34.95/month. Helps pass the 3 hours back and forth.

Plus, I looked at the whole streaming movies and TV thing that AA had. A movie is like $3.99 and a TV show is $1-2. Not too bad. Cheaper than LiveTV on United.

That's tres cher as well. I was riding in the back one day, thought I'd watch a little telly and was like "Damn!"

From a pilots perspective .. the airbus is SUPER COMFORTABLE, especially for all these long haul operations .. plus the A330 is a great bird. A321 lacks the performance, so makes me wonder what deal they got for them.
