Can someone explain why they are asking employees to "volunteer" to help dig out of this mess?? I get drinking the company Koolaid to a point, but asking people to deal with this fiasco without pay just seems absurd to me

It took my wife almost 24 hours to get from ORF-ATL-MSP yesterday with a confirmed ticket. It was nuts, finally got home at 5am this morning without her bags.

My GF is still in ORF. Had to buy her a ticket out on Southwest tomorrow...Just shy of a whole paycheck : / Out of curiousity we were thinking of moving back to the tidewater/ obx and commuting to DTW when I upgrade. Anybody have an idea on how many commuting pilots not on Whiskey are there?

Norfolk? I'm sure it's abandoned, why would anyone wanna live there?

Had originally turned a week off onto 21 days off, but the wife said that too long to be home in one stretch.
Try 28 every other month. Of course, the honey do list gets longer and longer every time I'm away.

There's the honeymoon period that lasts a couple of days, then reality, then about week 3 it's "when do you go back".:D

Well there's this thing apparently called the "Peach Corps" (a take on the Peace Corps I guess) where if you're really bored you can go to the airport to help direct traffic during IROPS.

No, you're not being asked to volunteer to fly. Not sure what internet website started that crap, ha!

Can I list "Peach Corps" on an app? ;)

Most of the AW guys who commute to ORF go through charlotte. I commute ORF-PHL and I'm typically the only pilot I see listed.

Used to be tons of old Piedmont guys there but most of them have retired in the last couple years.

Rough couple of days indeed, landed at 3:30am the other night for no real reason other than they couldn't staff our flight with FAs who had been twiddling their thumbs in the crew lounge for 6 hours waiting for a call. Hope this get figured out and improvements are implemented stat.
