Interesting, while I was in the air practicing some maneuvers today, an outbound delta flight told departure they were going to have to shut down an engine and return to the airport due to an engine overheat warning. They did ask for "the equipment" and gave ATC their SOB and Fuel Remaining. I don't recall the flight number so I can't say what type it was, but probably an MD-88 or a 732. Stuff like this probably happens on a daily basis for delta with a fleet as large as they have.
