My two cents, and the two cents of guys who have been covering the aviation industry and have awards for it?

It's just a way for management to say, look, we gave you something, now you gotta give us something. We gave you over 1,000 guys off the streets, give us something back. We're losing money hand over fist, even though things are picking up, so you gotta give us something. We brought back a lot of guys, help us here.

Now, if you had a company that had good labor relations and trust, that might work. It won't work here because labor relations suck.

That's the scoop from people who know. And I don't pretend to be one of them.
 
Labor-management relations don't always make sense. We have been severely understaffed in the FO seats, but they still don't call back our furloughees. Of course, with us, they are looking ahead to elimination of two fleets, but it is causing a lot of problems in the short term.

Doug, is there any truth the rumor that DALPA is upset our new optional hat policy? I heard that they are trying to pressure DAL to pressure our management to bring the hats back.

Here is my recommendation for a nom de plume:
