In the next 15 years, DL will lose 68 % of the current seniority list to age 65 (their numbers…not mine)…throw in a few medicals…

The annual totals form a bell curve with the peak at the end of 2028 after which they decline year to year but remain considerable for many years post-2028. Can't remember how far out they go...2048 is what pops into my mind but I don't have the numbers on this computer.

And, of course, DL will be competing for talent with AA & UAL who have what appears to be similar circumstances. I see numbers for each of these carriers but can't verify the accuracy; I can for DL.

[Shortage ? Don't know…we should kick that around some time :D ]

It's nice to see Mr. Anderson has apparently taken note of all this.

Good...the first major company to actually crack the egg and let the yoke flow will be the catalyst to all the other HR departments collectively saying "Okay...guess we better do this now."

Any of us with access to DLNet can see the pilot selection critieria internally, just sayin'.
 
And I did the hard work for one trusted member, rest of you good luck finding it. The redesign of DLNet spun me for a loop.

This was back in summer of '07 (haven't been around that way in a long time) and they had shutdown for a time because some people got sick. I was finishing up training and didn't know that they had opened it back up. I guess it was just one incident in which they had to have an inspection from the city. Glad to know they are back in business.
 
ASA likes to "enhance" a lot of our pay/benefits programs....Between the stock purchase programs, healthcare changes, stock grants, travel bennies, etc....it has cost me many thousands of dollars and large QOL hits.

Great news about Delta. DL hiring manger gave some info today at WAI conference alluding to this as well. Great energy in the room and the industry in general these days. It's good to see.

I was at Flight Safety ATL in February, and Spondivits is very much open!

That was the "oyster" incident. You gotta keep those puppies on ice until ready to eat.

They're certainly open. I had later sim periods so I didn't drop in because Spondivits was well into the "Dangerous Hours" where there's generally a cop sitting around for skurrrrity.

It gets pretty packed in the late evening. Pilots and other airline employees stick out like a sore thumb as they exit the restaurant and make their way back to their respective hotels!
