I don't think it's such a big deal to date other crew members from your own airline. It's not like you see the same people every single day! Bill and I dated & flew at Eagle together for 8 months (before he left for TWA) and we never even got to fly together!

And no, don't expect FA hijinks on the long overnights! Most FAs I knew wouldn't touch a pilot with somebody else's 10 foot pole! (Really, some *not all* FAs have a real anti-pilot attitude, I've never understood it!)

A funny but true story.

So I'm a 737 FO flying up to Boston from Orlando, and one of the flight attendants is in the cockpit chatting (pre-9/11).

Anyway, she's telling us about how much she misses her boyfriend and how it's hard to meet good guys, yadda yadda yadda.

I tell her that there are a number of single, young captains at Delta that she might be interested in, matter of fact, Captain "Blank" here is single, never married and quite the catch I'd think!

"Oh GAWD! I'd never date a pilot. Eeeewwwwww!"

Hmm, ok.

So she continues talking about her boyfriend and how she's going to be able to see him in another 8 months.

My captain asks, "So is he on military deployment somewhere?"

"No," she says, "He's in the county jail down in Osceola County because he got into a fight that wasn't his fault while he was on parole and had a mean parole officer, etc etc etc... But he's supposed to be out maybe a few months early because he's getting credit for getting his diploma".

THAT'S a true story!

Well, there's your reasoning. The gov't paid for his diploma, so he doesn't have the debt your average pilot does. He can buy her more. Granted, he's probably more likely to STEAL it.....
