So Im sitting Orlando Sanford waiting for my flight and have Seen 3 cirrus and 1 Seminole taxi well off the centerline as to where tire is Within a couple feet of the grass. One of the cirrus' right main went off into the grass for a few seconds then they corrected back. What's going on down here?
 
No, down at Sanford they'll use "right side" taxiing, just like driving on the road...the taxiways are 150 ft wide, and it allows them to move the DCA planes around easier.

I finished up my training at SFB with DCA, it was stange the first time I did it.
 
At YIP gnd will pass two of our aircraft on the same taxiway frequently. Welcome to YIP... land of 5 runways and 1 taxiway. Well scratch that 4 runways and 2 taxiways as of 2100Z today!

you forgot world's largest nonmovement area.
 
There were a few times at SFB that an aircraft landed on Taxiway Bravo (parallels Runway 9L/27R) because it's 150 ft wide like the runway...one afternoon I witnessed a Citation Bravo do a go-around at approx. 50 ft over taxiway Bravo, with 2 DCA Seminole's on the taxiway...Sanford Tower was about to come UNGLUED!
 
I went to DCA back in the day, and the above poster is correct...They taxi on the right side of the centerline, so planes can pass each other in opposite directions.
 
How long ago were you there? I was there from August 03 - July 04...got my stuff and got out of there...place made me want to go insane!
 
I was told in Daytona in early April to taxi on the right side by ground specifically one time, as a 172 passed by the other way on Taxiway November. Was nervous so I basically rolled to a stop in the SR20 cuz of the gusts n stuff didnt want to get too close

Hey, I remember you, it took me a sec until I looked at your name. I was a student there from June 03'-May 04'. I'm pretty sure we interviewed together. I ended up going the freight 135 route after instructing, corporate, furlough, back to freight 135. Where'd you end up?
 
We do the same two way taxi procedure here at KIWA. It was unusual at first when ground told me to taxi right side for passing traffic.

I must have been there after you, I think I started in Sept 05....I felt like I got good training there, expensive but good, haha. But, it was so poorly run I couldnt imagine instructing there, so I got out too.
