Delta chief check airman to speak at my school today

Flying to Prague and spending 48 hours with my wife and a fantastic cockpit crew REALLY sucked. :) :sarcasm:

Let's be honest though. How many people are going to see something like that in today's climate? There are guys at Eagle that have been FO's for 10 years. After 20 years in the industry (if they last that long), they may never see the left seat of a 100 pax airplane.

Like I said, a guy in the FSDO is likely, though not necessarily, someone who hit a wall someplace in their career and dove out.

You have to be able to filter out the bias. Do you really thing that guy at Eagle that topped out as an FO for any number of reasons is going to have a positive outlook on the airlines? FYI- Delta hired Eagle FO's (yes I said FO's) without any turbine PIC last hiring cycle.

Eagle is funny because a lot of airlines DL,VA,JB, ACMI to name a few will hire eagle FO's with no or little TPIC.

Well........... that goes without saying. Not all of us will become Fedex captains. It's very important for people to hear both sides of the story.

This is not the good old days anymore. Where you "paid your dues" and a AA or UA 737 was waiting for you in a couple of years. Be prepared to live a lower to middle class life with little compensation and an even bleaker future as higher paying jobs are shrinking and are being replaced by RJs.
