Delta & ATL questions

My wife and I are flying out of Atlanta to Dublin next week on Delta 176.

I've never flown on Delta, or traveled through Atlanta before.

1. In the economy section, on this route (around 8 hours) are the alcoholic beverages complimentary?

2. We have a 4.5hr stopover in ATL. Is a temporary Sky Club membership a good deal to access their lounge? Specifically, are the Sky Club lounges in ATL decent quality, and do they have complimentary alcohol?

Thanks for any tips/advice!

I don't know the answers to any of your questions, but I am thirsty now for some reason?

I could be wrong but I HIGHLY doubt in economy class booze would be free. But then again I am not on DAL much either....

I did ATL-GRU this summer (just a bit longer than yours) on economy and I'm pretty sure they were charging for alcoholic beverages.

Even cheapass Airways has free booze on international in the back... or they did last time I checked. I haven't been in the back of an international flight in a while.

Drinking to excess on a plane (especially a long-haul) is a sure way to land at your destination dehydrated & tired.

My recommendation: keep it to one or two drinks, and don't get on the plane drunk! :)

Thanks for the replies. I was 50/50 sure on the free economy booze. I did a Google search and found a few links that said yes, and a few that said no.

Anyhow, looking forward to the week of vacation time. I figure a couple before the flight, and maybe a couple more on the flight and I should be able to get to sleep nicely! (9pm departure).

Don't forget about the long walk and ride to E concourse for international departures. A lot of times Atlanta is chaotic, but it was home to me before being furloughed.
