Delta 767 crew rest question

Hi,
Trying my chances at flying in business over to Europe tomorrow and am wondering if they block off one of the seats for pilot rest? It's listed as a 76W, and I know some of the aircraft have an actual crew rest area.
Figured someone on here might know more than me.
Thanks!

They only make the seats planned to be usable by passengers as open for sale both NR and Rev. Of course a last minute downgrade could remove 1 DeltaOne seat from the aircraft for crew rest, or a last minute upgrade can add a seat to the cabin, also not all Euro flights require the third crew member- and if they don’t have 3 pilots, they will sell the pilot rest seat.

Okay thanks! This regional guy doesn't know when they need a third pilot and when they don't. It'll be close but maybe I'll get lucky for once

What’s the route?

Block times under 7.5 hours probably a 2 man crew... block time under 8.5 hours= maybe a 2 man crew. Over 8.5 hours is defiantly a 3 man crew. I believe Lisbon, Glasgow and Keflavik/Reykjavik are 2 man crews, anything else are probably 3 man crews.

I flew over to LHR on Delta (767W) a couple of years ago and was lucky enough to get a seat up front on a buddy pass. Once we got settled in cruise, the CA came out and took one of the cubicles; it had a curtain setup which made it completely private for him. He went back to the flight deck just before we started our descent.

Block 8 and over is 3 man. We also have a contractual requirement for 3 man depending on departure time, regardless of actual block time.

Pretty sure the 76W has a condo, so they won't need to block seats.

The W is for the FAs. There is also T, G, X, and something else. It has to do with seating and galley layout. The ships with the condo are 1607 to 1613. They usually don't fly on the shorter European routes.

It's been a while, but I used to ride one with a condo to work from LAX to ATL on a red eye. It was a great way to commute.

They let you ride down there on a domestic leg? That's a huge "NO" from the company. Even for employees, let alone OALs.

It had the huge jumpseat that turned sideways. You could set it up like a lazy boy, and pass out pretty good. Sleep mask and ear plugs.

767 crew rest area I'm used to...

Yeah... That's not a "condo"... just the nice jumpseat.

We finally got approval for access to our extra bunks, even on augmented flights, for a jumpseating or non reving (on line only) pilot. Huge difference on red eyes.

What did you guys give up for that?

Absolutely nothing. Apparently the new (at the time) CP went over to Japan for something and asked to use the extra bunk and was told it wasn't allowed on augmented flights. The policy changed the next week. We've had access on unagumented flights since they were installed.

That’s why I think it’s important that everyone in “non flying” pilot positions get out and work in the system on a regular basis. A lot of things won’t change unless the people making the rules have to share the experiences of those who have to follow them.
