There was one day where I think I dumped CLB1 to get over the top of some weather. But out here it was super rare to need the extra thrust.

Totally unrelated... I keep getting max power takeoff requests from MX on the new plane on empty "short" (<6 hour) reposition legs. That's... fun. Almost blew the 3000 foot restriction at DOCKR.
 
Sounds like it’s the same concept for the 737. We have CLB, CLB 1, CLB 2. The airplane gradually goes normal climb by 15,000ft (derate removed).

CLB 1 is 3% N1 reduction and CLB 2 is 6% N1 reduction.

Omni regularly goes BFI-SEA and vice versa. Got one of those on an empty -200 with no pax and like 20k of gas and sure enough "max pwr t/o reqstd". It seriously felt like we were going straight up...for like three seconds, then it was time to level off. Wheeeeeee.
