Degree Requirements

I am a PPL student expecting to take the Practical Test in the next few weeks. I am pretty much set on attending ATP, and have all of my financial arrangements taken care of. My question is directed toward major airline hiring. I already hold an Associates Degree in Business. Is a Bachelors Degree the only way to get picked up by a "major"? And if so does it matter what field that the Bachelors is or where it came from?
I figure I'm going to spend at least 4 years at a regional after being hired, just not sure if I really need to look toward further academic work as well.

4 year is a must to be competitive. Any field is good. I have a AA in avia tech. and working on a BS in Criminal Justice.

Yes sorry bout the double post. I'm new here obviously and I thought it would redirect me back to the thread.

Is there a big descrepancy between a B.S or B.A. in the minds of the hiring airlines? I've researched the degree programs offered through Utah Valley State as well as B.A.'s through the U. of Oklahoma online. I know OU is acredited nationwide but Utah Valley is a regional acredited school.
