Deadly Uniforms ?? (AA)

My company's twinhill garbage is made in China. Our issue hasn't so much been with the quality of the uniform or health issues as being able to obtain it an timely manner. Think 6+ months wait for a simple pilot shirt. No one seems to care. Good thing it's mostly freight, I just show up in stained up rags.

I can say I will miss flying/working in boots and coveralls when the time comes.

I won't miss the precarious act that is taking a duke down range. The careful unzip combined with tying the sleeves together around my knees such that no part of the garment touches the scum layer on the floor. My answer became to rock PT gear all the time until it came time to fly.

Alaska had the same issue when they rolled out new FA uniforms a few years ago...fabric had been "stored" in a Chinese warehouse for 3-5 years. 3 of the FA's in my crashpad had really bad rashes...to hell with that.

So wife's new uniforms roll out next year...made from recycled plastic water bottles... I can only imagine how bad they will be after seeing this.

Yeah stripping down to do the duty is a downside. It's an actual learning process. I remember an instructor pilot in T-45s standing up at a meeting saying "Alright all you clowns I see in the head with your flight suits lying all over the stall...I just want you all to know that I miss....Often!" It was hilarious, but thereafter I mastered the art of roll and tuck.

Roll and tuck took me about 5 minutes to figure out. A small price to pay for comfort, ease of motion, no skin rashes, and not having your duds melt in to your body in a fire.

Flight Suits for everyone! Right, @ATN_Pilot ?
