DCI Sept Schedules

Well the delta net first proposed schedules are out for the DCI carriers for September. As expect Freedom is gone and comair is doing a lot of flights in DTW CVG and MEM. What is suprising is that Pinnacle is the only 50 seat operator in LGA. Comair does some CR7's and shuttle is still there but as far as CRJ 200's go, 9E is it. JFK has 9E and republic doing 50 seat flying. It looks like a lot of daily flights out of NYC for Pinnacle. Will they continue doing what they are doing right now or will a vacancy for LGA/JFK come out soon?

LGA looked like 23 daily departures with 5-6 more on the weekends
JFK looked like 25ish daily departures. So thats is about 30-40 crews per day in NYC. It is now June, when do you think our commitment to communication will announce anything?

Once again its only first proposed schedules

How are the hours for DTW, MSP and MEM? Honestly, if they're still up to March/April levels (which is what it's supposed to be per the latest manglement memo), I don't see them displacing out of those two. We don't have the staff to open a new domicile. There's not enough people to staff the reserves needed for that. Only other option is a TDY (which can only be done for a couple of months in a row, or it goes the way CVG did), or the transitional/deadheading stuff we've been doing.

I just looked through it...damn, that'll make you dizzy. I'll just wait till its time to bid for September to find out where we're flying.

If Delta wanted to set it up to where a strike by 9E wouldn't interrupt service.....mission accomplished. Wow. Although, looking at the numbers, it doesn't look like we'll be displacing or closing any bases. DTW is still huge, MEM is next and MSP looks about like it did during the spring. The big loser is IND. Nothing out of IND except stuff from the hubs. The JFK/LGA flying is about the same as CVG/ATL, so I could easily seem them just running transition flights in and out of there. This is based off the Sept schedule I looked at (there were a few of them, it seemed), and as we all know Delta can and normally DOES change schedules all the way up until the start of the month. I only saw TWO XJ Saab routes out of MEM, though: PIB and TUP. I don't know if they're killing Paducah, Ft Smith and Muscle Shoals, or not. I did see the Saab is doing MSL out of ATL, so they may be nixing the MEM service altogether.....

We just had a company conference call here at Comair for us furloughees that are coming back. We are flying about 200 extra hours this month which will continue to increase over the next several months and into the fall where they are anticipating 1,100 additional block hours by November. There will be a complete switch of flying and bases on Sept. 1 from JFK to DTW. It will be fun to see 400+ pilots we got based in JFK transfer on one day to DTW. Looking forward to sharing DTW with you XJ/9E guys;)

Rumor we got was an extra 2000 for June and July, and then our hours go back to about what they were in the spring. Thing is.....we don't have the PEOPLE for that. I don't know where we're gonna get the crews to staff that. If you look at the lines, most guys are over 90+ hours, and we're down reserves, too. We were already short in the spring, so I'm wondering if the only way for management to get slapped in the face by reality is for Delta to treat us like Freedom. Honestly, that's my biggest fear: management keeps their head in the sand so long that our performance drops to dangerous, contract canceling levels. Nov/Dec is gonna be fun, too. We're not gonna have any FOs left since pretty much EVERY FO (including the reserves) is doing 85-95 hours a month. If we don't hire....well, I don't know who they're gonna get to replace the guys timing out.

Welcome man! Did they tell you where your crew room is gonna be? I would guess it would be somewhere in the B/C concourse. Get ready to sit through an hour of video watching to get your SIDA badge.

No, the company doesn't know anything, yet for DTW. I'm sure the SIDA videos are just as much fun as the ones we have in CVG :D

Yeah apparently we have 2000 additional hours for the months of June, July, and August. Then we go back down to spring levels or even a little less for the fall. The main reason is that we are not painting planes right now so we can do all this extra flying. Then in the fall they will be sending as many planes as the paint shop can take so they will all be ready for the holiday season. I also dont see any base closures or displacements. All it looks like to me is they moved our IND flying to NY. I would bet it will all be transition flights. I just did one that transitioned from CAE, AVL, and RDU. It also makes sense to have more comair flying in DTW. If our planes are going to be transitioning to LGA and JFK instead of doing out and backs their has to be someone there to pick up the slack. Also with Mesaba's saabs being phased out there needs to be other carriers in MEM to help cover that flying.

AFAIK, XJ is still doing Paducah (whatever the code is), GLH, PIB, FSM and MSL. Like I said, though, MSL might be going to ATL. It's pretty much the same distance (I guess) as MEM, so that's not a huge shock. We start GTR this month, and I'm surprised they haven't talked Delta into letting us do GLH to make paint shop runs easier.
