DCA-IAD Shuttle

Why DCA to only have you depart IAD? 3 hours? Are you doing a hit or something? ;) Was this a cheaper option for him because if he really wanted to be cheap and save money, he should have booked you through BWI ;) At least both road and passenger air traffic will be light that day. Anyway, if you cant get UA to re-book you through DCA on Thankgiving Day (hopefully they'll have a heart that day) Id take the cab option. Like I said, traffic in that area on a holiday is fairly light.

I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't realize. I've looked up flights on orbitz or expedia before where they have you fly to LGA and connect to JFK or vice versa.

That ish cray. What the hell kind of routing is that? I remember looking at airfare from LAX-SFO a few weeks ago and it was $210 one way non-stop on every carrier, but for $194 you could do LAX-PHX-SFO with a 2 hour layover! "Only 2 seats left!". It was gone when I checked again. People are cheap.

Wow! CLE-ICT is only $226, leave at 0600 and arrive at 1030; how much money did your client save?............AND you have to travel three days early? That sucks.

Here I was thinking that my boss-scheduled flights were bad; I'll not complain again!

There would be people flying Delta from PHX to JFK that have a 25 minute connection from LGA to DCA (on a different airline) and would drop by the cockpit (I was jumpseating) to ask if we were going to be early because of this.

People obviously have low self esteems if they think a day of personal misery is "cheaper" than just shelling a few extra dollars out, staying on the same carrier and making more convenient travel plans.

Hey, I'm not giving all my secrets.8). It is a gov gig. No going to ICT for a weekend startup. Too bad they want me to travel on Thursday (Thanksgiving) return Monday.
I've asked if I can book myself.

Gotcha, well, its seems like a dumb way to book a flight. Like I said, a cab is going to be your best option working with that time frame.

When I'm booking MNL out of GRR you should see all the crazy routings offered. GRR-ORD-BOS-NRT-MNL, return flights through NRT that overnight because they arrive 45 min after the connection departs that day. 25 min connections in HKG was another head scratcher

I can't wait for the completion of the silver line. It'll make commuting much easier.

Haven't personally ridden the silver line, but I did get my silver line smart card swagggg.

It's a rip off tho. Went to the nats game last night from wiehle to navy yard and it was $13 bucks round trip and an hour ride. I can drive it in 30 minutes.

I'm never able to drive from a Nats game.

Wow. Didn't realize that distance on the Silver Line was THAT spendy. I can't imagine what it's like at peak times.

I walk to the games. I'm toying with the idea of going tonight after a meeting. Will definitely go this weekend, too, since the Giants are in town and we get to welcome Mikey Morse back to DC!

You guys should ping me if you're coming in for a game.

Why DCA to only have you depart IAD? 3 hours? Are you doing a hit or something?;) I dont see how you're really going to have time to conduct any type of work for your client in the NOVA area in 3 hours and make it back down to IAD (20-30 mins from DCA in regular traffic. Easily 45 min to 1 hour in heavy traffic) I hope, for your sake, people dont venture out this Thanksgiving day.

Agreed. It's way too tight for me to like. Even without traffic.

Make them pay by taking a cab both ways. Or hell, get a driver service to do it.
