Why I HATE the client wanting to do my travel..... I do have 3 hours...but look what day they want me to travel...

If you're asking how to get from IAD to DCA look up the Washington flyer bus. It'll take you to a metro station where you'll hop on a train to Reagan. The flyer is half price if you're in uniform.

sooner rather than later, they'll finish the Silver line on the Metro and then you'll be able to take a train directly between the two. Silver line just opened up last month.

Is November 27 Thanksgiving? Because if it's not, with DC traffic, getting in at 10 and leaving at 1? That's going to be tight.

And the hell with taking the Metro. Take a cab both ways.

If the client booked it that way, the client should cover your transfer via cab. Otherwise, Blue Line to Rosslyn, transfer to the Silver to Wiehle-Reston then Silver Line Express bus. Non crew pay about $11.00 total. Travel time is about 1:45-2:00 depending on connections, etc.

CLE-ORD must have been $4 more expensive.
I'd make sure I took a cab, er limo and billed them the $200 for their $4 savings and probably 100/hr for my time that is beyond the CLE-ORD hour long flight. That is just plain stupid. There's a CLE-ORD flight like every hour or two.

Client better be paying "holiday" pay rate....mmm I'd say some where around 1g a day...that'll fix that real quick!

Wow! CLE-ICT is only $226, leave at 0600 and arrive at 1030; how much money did your client save?............AND you have to travel three days early? That sucks.

Here I was thinking that my boss-scheduled flights were bad; I'll not complain again!

At least you will miss most of the traffic. I live one mile from the wiehle metro and trying to go to dc on a weekday will suck during rush hour.

Is the station walkable for you? I haven't had a need to ride the silver line out that way yet.

It's a mile, which isn't too bad. What the girlfriend and I do, is take the city bus. There is a stop right at the top the driveway. They come by like every 20 minutes or so.

The Wiehle-Reston station is about 10 minutes closer to Dulles. You spend more time on the Metro, but it's not bad and still the best (cheapest) way to get between the two airports until the Silver Line is done.

Estimated completion:2018

I can't wait for the completion of the silver line. It'll make commuting much easier.

Haven't personally ridden the silver line, but I did get my silver line smart card swagggg.

Why DCA to only have you depart IAD? 3 hours? Are you doing a hit or something?;) I dont see how you're really going to have time to conduct any type of work for your client in the NOVA area in 3 hours and make it back down to IAD (20-30 mins from DCA in regular traffic. Easily 45 min to 1 hour in heavy traffic) I hope, for your sake, people dont venture out this Thanksgiving day.

Was this a cheaper option for him because if he really wanted to be cheap and save money, he should have booked you through BWI ;) At least both road and passenger air traffic should be light that day. Anyway, if you cant get UA to re-book you through DCA on Thankgiving Day (hopefully they'll have a heart that day) Id take the cab option. Like I said, traffic in that area on a holiday is fairly light but its Northern Va so anything can happen.
