For anyone that needs a room in the DC area, there is a crashpad in Crystal City that is worth a look. It is maintained by two Republic Airlines crewmembers and they actually live in the same building. They have a "Hot Bed" option, which is a misnomer as the bed has fresh clean linen and they provide a clean towel, that goes for 20 bucks a night. They are located a stone throw's away from the restaurants on 23rd Street and are only a block from the Metro. And the Taxi fare is around $ 8.00 in case the Metro isn't running.
I have used them a few times now and made a comment that will ring true for those that stay there: -" If Martha Stewart did crahspads, they would look like this."
