Hey Potomac controller, I had to work in the FRZ this morning and appreciate your help and flexibility in coordination for the time I needed to do my job for the USDA.

Yes it's a headache, but in your taking time to work with us in getting this done, we shouldn't need to come back until next year :)

As for the initial controller out at the gate...well, the office of the Chief Council has made it pretty clear that a vector does not constitute a clearance into class Bravo; so please don't get snippy next time someone asks you to clear them into Bravo when all you have given is a radar vector. I understand the sentiment, but hey - I play by the rules especially when I need to play in the SFRA and the FRZ.

AHHH so you were the one on for the FRZ! Congrats. You'll have to elaborate for me when when I get back to the office, I remember us having this convo about controllers getting moody when just verifying we have clearance through bravo. It's our ass.

Date and time of your flight? I can forward your thanks and concerns to my buddy who works the Mt. Vernon area (DCA) of Potomac. He's got a little bit of pull there, so it won't go unheard.

Paleo gate at 13:45 Zulu on 9/12, 4,500 Msl.

The controller who worked me from Nottingham over Andrews, DCA and other sensitive areas was awesome. Initially I thought I'd get turned away, but he went out of his way to inquire how I would affect approaches and worked me between sequencing.

I appreciate when controllers take a minute and recognize the operation isn't JimBob hanging out the window with a handheld, and is flown by folks who:

Have a job to do, and
Are trying to do it as professionally and efficiently as possible.

Thanks for passing along my thanks to him.

Indirectly. He's a union rep, and has been working on the airspace/procedure redesign for the past couple of years.
I know, I figured I would mess with him if he was telling people that. I think he is done with the rep stuff now though and just focusing on MetroPlex
