I'll be flying from PNE (Northeast philly) to GAI (Gaithersburg, MD) and havent been in the ADIZ for quite some time now.

I love requesting VFR flight following and plan to do so on this trip but my question is:
I understand that I will have to file from Wooly (ADIZ northern gate) to GAI, will I be able to keep my flight following out of PNE throughout the whole flight?

And the same thing when i depart the ADIZ, once I clear the ADIZ at WOOLY will i continue to receive flight following?

What would the radio calls sound like?

Outbound
" N911AT would like to file ADIZ flight plan to WOOLY VFR @ 3000. request VFR flight following to PNE"?

On the way in, contact your local approach/departure for flight following. They should pass you off to Potomac when you get into their sector and open up your ADIZ flight plan.

On the way out contact Potomac like you normally would, but before they kick you off when your clear of the ADIZ, just ask for flight following to wherever and they will keep you on.

I have more important information for you though:
Once you hit the ground, go get the Chicken Philly Sandwich with everything on it. Or the Gyro. I know-- you guys have Princes up the street from you, but this stuff ain't bad.


Good luck-- I smiled because that tail number is of an airplane I used to fly. (I was the Chief Flight Instructor at GAI for about 3 years).

I was wondering if GAI was still alive....I solo'd in 123LG and flew 911AT 7 years ago now. I wonder if they still have that little restaraunt there.
