Damn...

Haha! Got turned down since I'm not bilingual. Pretty funny that I have to speak another language to get a job in my own country. :banghead:

DAL is still hiring Language of Destination (LOD) FAs. Too bad you don't speak either an Asian, Middle Eastern, or Eastern European language.

Thanks, guys, for your info and ideas! North American and World are owned by the same holding company. I've checked the websites for both World and OMNI and there are no FA opportunities at this time. I know DAL is only hiring Japanese-speaking FAs at this time and JetBlue just had recruitment of Bilingual (Spanish) FAs.

And, yes, as I said in an earlier post, I did resign from Colgan 6 weeks ago.

would you go allegiant air? Or would there be foreign companies that are looking for American base crews? Qantas, Emirates, and or Singapore?

Qantas and Singapore recruit from within their countries, but I do believe Cathay Pacific occasionally hires American based F/As.

I'm assuming AMC has something to do with military charters??

AMC is nerd-speak for military charters.

So, I'm out with some of my fellow gear-slingers today. We decide to catch the train to Leipzig. We see the sights (photos to follow), and it's lunch time.

We remember passing a restaurant with more traditional German fare. We get back and sit down to eat. As we are waiting for our food, we see some folks sit down at a table over.

We listen to them talk. Americans. Looking at them, they don't seem to be cobbled together in any discernible manner, so they must be flight crew. I casually mention to my colleagues that they must work for Ryan International or World, since those are the only other US airlines that fly into here.

I look over, and think I recognize one of them. I do. I call out "Mike!!".

He turns around. It's a person I've known for about 5 years, and here we meet randomly in Germany. (End of how small the world is story)

I told you that story to tell you this. I asked if North American (owned by the same company that owns World) is doing mostly military work. He told me that all they are flying is Military work.

So, the logic connection would be if the troop movements pick up, then perhaps North American will start hiring again.

So there you go...like a 3rd person hand me down status update.

Good luck

If/When I get back into flying, it'll be in the corporate arena. No more 121 for me....

Check out http://www.corporateflyer.net, there's job listings for corporate positions there. Being out east you're in a much better locality for some of these than I am!

I was extraordinarily surprised to read this. I thought you were totally in love with being a Flight Attendant.

What happened, if you care to share? That kind of caught me off guard.

Several Alaska F/As have quit and gone that route, especially in SoCal. The ones I've talked to love it.
V,
Tried to PM you, but apparently you don't accept PMs? Trying to answer your Facebook questions. FB is blocked at work right now......:banghead:

And Patricia, sorry to hear that. I'd offer you a job, but we don't have any FA's and our pilots tend to be a bit "ornery" :)

Awww thanks dear, I appreciate the sentiment. Besides, there's nothing wrong with a horny...err I mean "ornery" pilot! :p
