Damage Reports

There was some worry about SUA and FLL but dispatch held us here and made the right choice. We got some wind and a little rain, FLL got even less. Maybe somebody up at JAX can let us know how our friends to the north faired.

No damage to any of ATP's planes. There was a mass exodus of aircraft from Jax on Friday, check out this pic:

We now have a real-time flight tracker, and anyone can access it and see where ATP aircraft are flying. It displays the aircraft and its ATC data block on a map of the USA. Check it out at www.allatps.com/flying

COOL!!! I was flying 9387H from CRG to MCN that day. You can see it on the screen capture over Savanah. I was sweating pretty hard at about that point as our transponder just died on us, the static instruments weren't looking very reliable, and our fuel gauges were reading empty, not to mention it was my first time in IMC and we were in the middle of two hurricanes... Fun Stuff!

From what I can tell all the ATP planes made it out just fine as the storm never really got to bad in JAX and all the planes were well out of harms way. Can't say the same for the folks down in ORL. I just got back from there this morning and it looked like someone came along and took all the planes on the ramp and crumbled them up and kicked them across the ramp like a smashed up soda-pop can. There were planes flipped upside down with the wings bent/broke off. There were a few that actually got bent so bad the tail was bent up and over the cockpit with the rudder smashing into the top of the engine. A couple were smashed together and there seemed to be parts of planes littering the entire airport. The ILS in ORL was completly blown away. All the poles at the end of the runway were bent in half or blown away so that will be down for a long time. Really wish I would have brought my camera for that one! I still wonder if they have security camera footage of it all.
