Dallas area CFIs? Looking for rental checkout

If it ain’t a Boeing, I’m not going. No choice.
Anybody here a DFW area CFI? Looking for a place to rent in /near Adisson, Denton/Roanoke area. Four place single.

Instructor must be able to demonstrate patience with student who hasn't flown light airplanes in a long time.

Also looking for recommendations for rental insurance from anybody who does this kind of thing often.
 
Got info so far on Monarch at Addison, Marcair in Roanoke, and RFC flying club in Addison. Appreciate those who have reached out.

what does everyone use for renters insurance?
 
Just keep in mind ads can be more of a pain to get in and out of at times then some of the other airports so depending on the drive your making might be something to factor in. Also a coworker who owns and flies out of 52F hasn't had the greatest things to say about Marcair the few times he's worked with them for various things but take that with a grain of salt....
 
I'm coming from Grapevine so I think Roanoke is closest. Addison and Denton and Arlington are probably a wash.
 
ADS at rush hour is insane. Waited at the runway for 25 minutes a couple weeks ago when I ferried a DA42 there. Interesting mix of traffic though.
 
If you file you will wait a while for your release. It's typically not too bad for VFR. Typically.

And... "Cleared to land #4"
 
Addison is busy and doesn't allow touch and goes. I just joined a flying club in McKinney, its worth the extra 20 min drive for me. Good prices and run off tach time not hobbs, saves a bunch of money.
 
Couldn't find rental info on Skymates website. I'll call them today.

Tough to get to ADS from Grapevine with any kind of traffic.

GKY and 52F will be most convenient for you.

I earned my PPL out of TKI - it's further for you, but the highways shouldn't be too bad. Monarch was up there at TKI, and there are a couple of flying clubs out of TKI, too.
 
Where is TKI? (I could look it up but I'm lazy)

That's a haul. I know how lazy I am. I doubt I would ever go if I have to drive that far to get someplace.

Understandable. 'Tis a nice field, though. Class D, long runway. Lots of interesting traffic without the delays and congestion of ADS.
