Any advice for a class 1 AME in the Dallas area that does plenty of work. Don't want one that only does a few per year. Tried a search but Dallas doesn't appear much.
 
Talk to Dr. Gabriel Fried. I've been using him for several years. He is friendly, quick and a great guy. He definitely keeps busy!

Don't go to Griffin if you have any issues. He is my AME, and it's great if you are a young healthy guy. If you have any medical issues at all, I would go somewhere else. I know a few people who have been screwed over by his office not doing paperwork in a timely manner for medical issues.

+1 for Brad Griffin in Roanoke. $40 for a first class and you are in and out in 15 minutes. But, like Mojo said, don't go there if you have any medical issues.
 
I went to Brad Griffin and was in an out in 20 minutes. And I'm by no means a lean mean slender chap. Plus have a case of the white coat each time I meet a new AME.
 
Griffin hosed me on the OSA stuff. Everything went fine on the exam but his staff took to long sending in the paperwork and I got the dreaded 90 day letter. Eventually I was able to get it sorted out with a lot of my own leg work because the staff there is useless.
 
The eye test is pretty basic and constitutes covering up one eye at a time and reading off a wall chart. If you want cheap, easy and quick Griffin is hard to beat. I would not use him if you are looking for a more thorough exam. I used to use Dr. Krass located in Bedford, Tx. He is a very experienced AME with a great staff but rather pricey. My Dad is 62 and still uses him every 6 months as does most of his airline buddies. Good luck!
