Normally we can do about 460'ish/.81 through 430-450. 510 isn't really a usable alt but we were light enough to do it once. The fact that it held .77 was kind of surprising. We tried it one other time in a block from 490 to 510. We got to 50.8 and it just wouldn't accelerate or hold airspeed. We descended back to 490 when we slowed to .70. I can say I've been there once. But we do normally cruise at 430-450. The Lear 45 will get there no problem even at gross.

Standing on the very end of Europe...what the Roman's called "Promontorium Sacrum". They considered it a magical place where the sunset was much larger than anywhere else. They believed the sun sank here hissing into the ocean, marking the edge of their world.

I watched the new Air Crash Investigation about Asiana 214 last night. The first half or so of it anyway. They've really strayed away from authentic and informational to sensationalist and simplification to the point of innacurracy. Anyway, I don't remember sharing this shot after the event, sorry if I did and forgot. Wasn't accepted on any of the database sites but it captured my perspective pretty well as having this happen "down the street" from where I grew up. This was on the bridge overpass near In n Out. Look closely above the tail...or where the tail used to be before Bang Ding Ow, and you can see the Lufthansa A380 sitting at OAK across the Bay waiting for SFO to reopen. It was the first arrival when the 19s re-opened could not be accommodated on a gate for several hours. Easily 5-6 hours stuck in the plane for those folks on arrival from FRA.
