Bottom of the list
Found the sun yesterday in the #pa31.
Congrats on the 1,000.
Is that in AK? You'd get shot for serving tacos like that in the US
I am partial to the Southeastern part of the state. It's gorgeous. The Aleutians are cool, but hard to see. That place (Well, most of Alaska) has been on my list for quite some time. I blew the miles saved up on the credit card to get a PS4 because I fly for free now....but the first plan was to burn the miles on an Alaskan Cruise. You have any particular recommendations for an east coaster who's never been? PM if you want, I don't want to deter from the topic or whatever.
Saw it land this morning in PHL, I guess it has greater wingspan than 777, 747, A340 and A330?
Do you have an engine blanket? It takes me about 15 minutes to get the oil temp to 100f with my home made pre heater (dyer ducting and a whisper lite). It took a little preheating and some sweet talking for the oil to warm up, but I eventually broke the surly bonds of earth.
I needed up hand propping it on the way back, because of an alternator/battery issue. I'll figure that out later. View attachment 34203
If you could find the time in between your world travels, I would love to hear these stories over beer.

So mine is fueled by something flammable instead of electricity, but same idea. The insulated engine blanket works really really well. After landing somewhere, I can pop that on right away and come back 6 hours later and still have a warm engine.I stitched together surplus shelter half(s) and used a ducted forced air heater.
It takes about 30 minutes to get the oil to 100f.
Seems to work well.
I searched for a preheater, the one I found is an oil pan. They don't fit the Franklin cylinders.
