daily pic

I don't "like" the mess- though I like the kind of places: lot of history, shame it's gone. I visited one of the old mechanics last Sunday. Guy's 89, going strong, his "office" is unbelievable, I did not dare to take a picture. Small, airport with busy glider OPS, hidden in the countryside.
I wonder if the airports decay only around here (North-East)or is it just nation-wide phenomenon..

I buzzed those red rocks couple years ago. Beautiful park with amphitheater.

Red rocks amphitheater is about a 20 odd minute drive north of me. Our rocks are very similar though and are a state park. There are similar formations up and down the front range.

Found these 2 old ACA Jetstream's and a 3rd from "Origin Pacific" rotting away in Mena, Arkansas today. Look like some super high time/cycle frames. Still kinda sad to see airplanes rot on a ramp though.

30R at SJC is closed until September so that means the last few weeks until a big fence is put up(thanks, Obama) along the side of 30L, we get some great photo opportunities. One day I'll have kids and have to tell them, "You know, SFO/SJC didn't always have these castle like walls around them. But cray cray people kept trying to jump the fence". Untreated/unrecognized mental illness in this country, I swear. Anyways, here you go:

"Blue Ridge Highlander" That's cool. Airliners need more character applied to them. Seems like only Jet Blue and Virgin America are willing to name their planes anymore. Well, in the US anyway.
