daily pic

Is the water that beautifully turquoise because of the glacier? They are amazing in their structure.......I think I reading something a long while back about their density and that they absorb all the other colors except blue. Just gorgeous.

A beautiful day in Washington!

Just took a gander
at your Washington and Oregon albums....your composition is pretty damn good and your "eye" has really improved. You're no hack, buddy. I especially enjoyed all the pics from Alaska that you posted recently. They were seriously awesome.
Thanks again :)...hopefully tomorrow when I go flying, it'll be nice around Denali, I'll try to get some more pictures of it up close/personal

It's been a great start to the summer already, are you over near YKM? If so, next time I overnight there I'll try to say hi...or if you make it over to Seattle, let us know, we could do a [HASHTAG]#teamSEA[/HASHTAG] night in Auburn/Puyallup area

The ice is blue because it absorbs all the other light. The water is turquoise because of the suspension of fine rock dust.

Thanks. I've quickly discovered a limitation with this new camera: getting the right focus!

Since it lacks an actual viewfinder, I'm stuck with the LCD screen... which would be fine except that the autofocus tends to struggle when shooting through the cockpit windows (although I've noticed that with other cameras and my iphone as well). The manual focus is nowhere near as fast as an SLR with a mechanical lens. On this lens, turning it can either be zoom or manual focus, depending on which mode you're in.

When you're in manual focus mode, adjust the focus brings up a zoomed area on the screen to help you fine tune the focus. So there ends up being a delay between focusing, fine tuning, and then being able to frame your subject properly. Not ideal for shooting in a dynamic environment.

That said, I still reckon it gives me the best balance of size and capability at this price point.
