Photos taken New Years Day on a fun flight to Port Angeles in the Pacific Northwest!
that looks like the wing of a skycatcher, amiright?
REJECTED: Objects in foreground; American Photographer. My laptop passed away and the copy on my PC wasn't up to the task of replacing its fallen friend, but I did finally manage to get a few shots edited for the first time in weeks. At the end of the year, SFO got hit with a severe windstorm, luckily it came from the North. Planes used the 01s the entire day for the first time since 2007. Luckily, I was off work and suspected they would have to use the 01s and I got hundreds of pics from several locations. The approach is a visual where you fly the ILS down 28L and break off 2.5nm out for a circle to land skirting the hills of the suburbs. Everyone flies it very different, and EVA chose to take their base leg all the way out to Crystal Springs then dive bomb the hills. Scared the crap out of me when they popped overhead from behind the house I was standing in front of and my 75mm lens could only fit the nose(!!). ATC warned them, "steeply rising terrain, use extreme caution". Quite the erotic encounter, and here it is when I could finally fit it in the frame. Turned out to be one of the best days of my life overall, amazing ending to the year.

Great photos. That Allegiant 757 with the waving captain is terrific. Makes a good photo even cooler. I hope you can get a copy to him.Did a shoot for the Stockton airport, the MD-80 got upgraded to a 757 that day so I got real lucky. Ops took me right out to the side of the runway, and the CA gave a salute and a waive as they went by like you can see in this pic. If anyone knows who did AAY529 SCK-LAS on 12/28, let me know I'd love to send him some high res copies, he seemed pretty excited.

And here are 2 more shots from the hills of a United and American 737-800 doing the circle-to-land 1R approach.
