We had a 15 minute intense Thunderstorm at 4:30AM the other night. I ran outside to try and photograph it. But the lightning was...intense and got very close, so when I started to feel static building around me and my hairs kept standing up on the back of my neck, I retreated to the car before I got any shots. Still, I was curious what the dawn would bring so I pulled an all nighter taking photos(mostly with my camera balanced on bushes, lawns, and a fire hydrant on top of my jacket LOL) well into the morning. This scene made it totally worth it.

How about we get a tripod?

How about we get a tripod?
Well, it's partially because I'm the kind of guy who tries to find a ghetto solution to a problem before a financial solution. But also there is great satisfaction when I get a good shot off a make-shift tripod combined with the bottom-of-the-line lens I shoot with(which is why I still haven't gotten my awesome lens repaired). Though I really should get a tripod because it would make my life a lot easier and I'm much more limited without one...and I need one for other ventures anyway.

Yea I still do that as well...mostly because I hate additional equipment, I like being a minimalist.
When you have a shot in mind though and you may not get it again, it's nice to have that to not worry about stability.

Ain't no thing but a chicken wing.
