daily pic

My version of airport appreciation time. It was graduation time in the upper Yukon so I had an all afternoon charter. It involved sitting in Holy Cross for an hour. They day was a 14 hour duty day, 16 legs, and 7.7 hours of flight time.

A friend sent some pictures of an airshow in Mexico today. Patty Wagstaff, Skip Stewart, Gary Ward, and others. Here are a few preliminary cell phone pictures. Should be getting some DSLR shots soon to share.

Now that's the way to see an air show ! The FAA would be having a COW if this was in the States.

Personal choice about wearing a helmet or is one plane "safer" than the other?

"The airplane was in a 30-knot direct crosswind that turned into a quartering tailwind on landing and the airplane flipped over, damaging the prop and vertical stabilizer. Jim got out OK! I spoke with him on the phone tonight and he said that all his safety gear worked properly, that his helmet got pretty banged up (better that than his head) and that he was able to get out because he lands and takes off with the canopy open."

It isn't always the airplane that is the problem.

I know a guy that put his head through a canopy during aerobatics. I think he now wears a helmet.
