I can't even imagine what that thing must handle like. Is it normal for them to land nose wheel first like that?

I'm thinking yes as it rode on the nose wheel all the way down the runway.

Smoothly reduce power to Idle, land nose first, also known as the "wheelbarrow". Apply brakes as required.
