I thought it smelled like Jersey.

I was taking off out of some NY airport once and climbing out over Jersey. You could get a pretty good whiff of burning chemicals. The flight attendant called up somewhat frantically "Oh my god, do you smell that? What is that?" I responded with "I do believe that is New Jersey."

You don't own that plane, the taxpayers do, your ego's writing checks your body can't cash, etc etc....

Ok, new rule. Every year at NJC, whoever has the most Top Gun or "flaps in the flare" posts has to be beer bitch for the entire evening. Anyone who asks, they have to go to the bar and get their drink for them.

They also have to deal with the cops when they show up.

You and me both. I did a 3 day earlier this week. Was supposed to do 12 legs...we only did 7. The rest cancelled due to avoidable maintence problems.

You know its bad when the passengers even know what's going on simply by seeing "the van". Their comments generally go something like:

"Wait is something wrong with the airplane?"
"We are going to get to Charleston on time.......right?"
"Why are those rough looking guys going in and out of the flightdeck?"
"Why is that engine cowling off?"

Well ma'am....

Here's a few from the last month or so. Again, all taken with a phone camera so the quality is slightly lacking.

The first Empire ATR for Ohana showed up yesterday. The artist that did the design on it has a very upscale clothing line out here.
