First Ag season 6.jpg

I thought I'd announce it here, sort of... With much thanks to a handful of mah Alaska boys (that whole networking and paying it forward thing at work), I was hired at PenAir and am in my last week of ground school. If these systems don't kill me first, I head to the sim in December for my 1st type ride. My 1st 121 experience. Flying a Saab 340. In Alaska. I'm glad I'll be sitting next to some people I don't deserve to be in a cockpit with. Their experience will be invaluable. The MD-11 is my ride home for some much needed time off following ground school.

This was the other day just after work. I sat all day watching the airport get hammered by rain. Towards the end of class, I saw the sun begin to show just a sliver of itself through the clouds to the west. 1 of 2 things will happen; complete epic, or complete bust. I was thrilled when I saw this Eva get moving from the ramp as the rainbow showed up.

Many an hour spent in the Saab here, you'll love it. The systems oddly start to make sense after a while, or at least you start to question them less and less and you'll never have to worry about the airplane getting you back safe. Congrats on the job and enjoy the Saab!

Oh yeah, chicks SO dig beta...

I went to a sleepy fly-in today sponsored in part by the Marion Military Institute. The BBQ was great and met some great folks.

Of course the show stopper was this:

And one of the coolest things was seeing that aviation passion isn't completely dead:

And a good bye salute to our future military aviators from one previous:
