Yeah we have those in our planes too. Not the best FMS ever, but certainly not the worst. Once you learn its ins and outs it's actually fairly easy and can do quite a bit.

Take a couple of RJ drivers and throw them in a room with the box...it's very much a monkey + football...

I've only flown it twice now, but I actually like it a lot for cruising around locally. High winds can toss it around pretty good though.

I agree, it is great for flying around locally. I did most of my primary training in one. It is a great handling aircraft, it climbs well and is overall really fun to fly. However, it is completely impractical for any kind of cross country flying due to the lack of sound-proofing and slow cruising speed. I especially like the wrap around wind screen, low side windows and strut that connects behind the door. All make for a much better platform for taking photos. The one I rent was OTS for MX for no less than 2.5 months in the last year. I was just about ready for my sport pilot checkout and it went OTS for a month. At the same time I had to go get a new medical for work so I just decided to go for private then. At that point I only needed to log the night and instrument training for the private certificate, as I already had the class B, C, and D endorsements for sport pilot.

Took this a couple weeks ago enroute to CMH. Fastest I've gone in the Canadian Space Shuttle. Bonus points for our fantastical POS FMS.
