Trust me, I love flying airplanes, but when the FO keys up the mic, then takes a deep breath, and then signs off with all their might, and then the controller does the same thing, no bueno. A smile "g'day" or adios, or a quick cya is fine. That is all, carry on!

Most the time it's not the FO! That's a tradition that's more practiced by the captains.. And yes you are over exaggerating... But carry on, you must fly a much nicer, faster, 50 seat 19d with the far superior attitude that you have..

Well, I don't fly a 50 seated, or a 19d, and it's not about that. I don't care about equipment, it's just about radio etiquette. I just don't think it's very professional. I think a simple sign off is pertinent, sure everyone likes a little comradery between the pilots and controllers. Most of the "cee-yas" I've heard haven't been annoying to me at all, but it's the once a week case where you hear the wind up and unnecessary extra effort.

So, how 'bout the weather out there?

I'd be happy if I never go to Talladega again. There is absolutely nothing around there.

I hear you there. We've done a lot of SEC college football games this year, and I have no desire to visit most of those places (Tuscaloosa, Starkville, etc) ever again.
