daily pic

Not a time lapse, but a long exposure with a graduated neutral density filter. Exposures were around 1.5 sec or so, to give the motion blur of the water.

The filter is basically like a sunglass lens that is tinted on top and clear on the bottom. That way the sun doesn't blow out the shot with the exposure time.

You using one of the square graduated filters, or a circular one? I had a nd filter for my old camera, and have been really thinking hard about snatching a graduated filter.

Mine is circular. For a couple of years I've been meaning to pick up a conkin z-pro kit, but never get around to it.

thanks. here's another one from this morning-

Damn you. Way to throw down the gauntlet. :confused2:

My first addition to the thread. Nothing spectacular, just a recent one I had on my cell phone.

Took this the other morning after a long night of airline maintenance. It's good to see an empty hangar floor when the sun is rising outside. The CRJ was was down all day with a captain's wind screen replacement. Hence the herd of new hires standing around trying to get their piece of the "action."

Sunset over middle TN.

A very raggy looking Red Fox. Look just on the left side of the rocks. Later that day he ran right in front of me as we just powered up for take-off...

The closest I've ever been to a flying P51. This was the best picture I got, but he was closer on a couple passes. Fantasy of Flight is such a cool place. Never thought I'd get buzzed by a P51 in a blimp.

Nice. What's your comfort zone if you see a fixed wing close by?

Depends on who/what it is. A guy like that, who has a P-51 probably has formation training and is really moving so fast that as long as he isn't insanely close, I'm cool with it. The average weekend warrior, a little further away. Like it or not, if I don't want you close to me, I'll just pull the power back and you can't stay with me in a fixed wing.

"I'll hit the brakes and he'll fly right by!"

Sorry, that was the first thing I thought of when I read that

Haha. I didn't even think of that. I don't have to hit the brakes o have everyone fly by. The only people I've had in formation with me are either other blimps or occasionally someone will come up and take a look with a gyrocopter.
